About
Artists from Ireland and abroad who are working in supported studio setting are invited to apply to Perceptions 2016: the Art of Citizenship an exhibition of contemporary art in Cork (Ireland) at the Crawford Art Gallery, the Wandesford Quay gallery and Cork City hall and a number of satellite venues presenting work made by artists from around the world working in supported studio settings.
Theme
The exhibition title “Perceptions” is based on the premise that, when we create spaces and opportunities to listen to a broad range of diverse intelligences, perspectives and voices, our knowledge, experience and understanding of the world is enriched. The exhibition aims to present a wide variety of perceptions and hopes to promote the concept of artists as engaged active citizens. It is hoped that artists participating will explore the theme’s varied definitions and will showcase original work.
Submitting work
There are two categories of submission, one for visual arts in general to presented in gallery spaces and the other for video work to be presented in a projection room of a gallery.
